No sound from speakers because volume turned down in sound mixer
Cause:
No sound is coming from the speakers because the volume sliders in mixer pushed down too far.
Solution:
Drag volume slider bars to increase volume.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs'.
3) Select 'Accessories'.
4) Select 'Multimedia'.
5) Select 'Volume Control'. (The 'Master Out' or the 'Wave Input' dialog box appears.)
6) If the 'Wave Input' dialog box appears:
a) Select the 'Options' menu and select 'Properties'.

b) Under 'Adjust volume for' select the 'Playback' radio button.
c) In the 'Show the following volume controls:', make sure that all check boxes are checked.
d) Click 'OK'. (The 'Master Out' box appears.)

7) Click and hold down a volume control slide bar.
8) Move the slide bar up to increase the volume.
9) Release the mouse button when the volume is at a desired level.
10) Repeat steps 7) through 9) on all slide bars in the 'Master Out' dialog box.
NOTE: Make sure none of the 'Mute' check boxes are checked.
11) After increasing the volume of all slide bars, select the 'Options' menu and choose 'Exit'.
